When Do Hair Extensions Typically Start to Tangle?
Under normal conditions, high-quality human hair extensions should not develop noticeable tangles within the first few days.
In general:
- Weeks 1–2: Significant tangling is uncommon.
- Weeks 3–6: Mild tangling may gradually appear due to everyday friction.
- Hair longer than 22 inches: More prone to tangling than shorter lengths.
- Curly hair: More prone to tangling than straight hair.
If severe tangling occurs only a few days after receiving your extensions, check whether:
- You slept with your hair loose.
- You frequently brushed against the natural direction of the hair.
- You used styling products with a high alcohol content.
- Your hair has not been properly moisturized or maintained.
- The hair is low-quality or non-Remy.
