How to Remove Tape in Hair Extensions at Home with No Damage

How to Remove Tape in Hair Extensions at Home with No Damage

Today I'm teaching you how to take out tape in hair extensions.

The first thing that you're going to need is 91% alcohol or GOO GOO Glue Remover

This is going to help break the bonds of the glue used to hold your tape in hair extensions human hair. I like it in this little spray bottle, because it's easy to spray on your hair but you can always get it bottle and transfer it into a travel size spray bottle. Make sure that you get 91% , not 70%. I've made that mistake before and it is not effective.

Next you're going to want a hair oil or serum any type will do. You'll also need a rat tail comb. Finally you need any type of hair clip.

First you're going to find and section out your first tape in hair extensions. Clip your other hair about the way of all. We work on this one. Take your alcohol and spray it all along where the tape is. Make sure that it's pretty wet so the alcohol can get in and break the bonds of the glue. If using GOO GOO glue remover, drop the glue remover into the gap between the two tapes and wait for about 1 minute. Your tape is going to start coming apart and you should be able to unstick the two ups of hair. If they don't come apart easily they'll grieve what the suction and try it again. Stick the two pieces back together once are out and set them over to the side.

Don't be alarmed if you lose some hairs while you're doing this. It's not breakage you're damaged. It's just simply the hair I naturally shed during the past weeks you've had your extensions. In instead of being able to shed and fall on the floor, come out on your brush or in the shower, they were trapped in the tape of the extension.

Use your hair oil or serum on the section where the tape was to help it the leftover residue.

If you're having issues getting your tapes apart, use the end of the comb to help get in there without pulling it too much. But again if you feel like it's giving too much resistance, then just spray a little bit more alcohol on the glue. It should not hurt or be difficult to get these out.

Comb through it to make sure that all the product is out. Once you're done, take everything down, shake it all out, run your hands through.

I hope this helped you guys, please let me know if you have any questions.
