Why Does My Micro Link Tip Fall Out Shortly After Installation?
If a Micro Link Tip slips out shortly after installation, the issue is usually related to the installation technique or daily care rather than the product itself.
Common causes and solutions:
1. The extension ring was not secured tightly enough
During installation, professional extension pliers should be used to firmly secure the ring. If it is not fully tightened, friction during wear can cause it to slip.
Solution: Have the ring re-clamped and make sure it is securely attached before wearing the extensions again.
2. Your natural hair is too fine or too little hair was taken
If too little natural hair is used, there may not be enough friction to hold the extension securely.
Solution: Use an appropriate amount of natural hair for each extension. The amount should be sufficient to fill the extension ring without overloading it.
3. The ring size is not suitable
A ring that is too large may not provide enough hold.
Solution: Choose a ring size appropriate for your hair type. Smaller rings are often more suitable for fine, soft hair.
4. Your hair is too smooth or has product buildup
Conditioner, hair oil, essential oils, and other styling products can reduce friction and affect the hold.
Solution: Wash your hair with a clarifying or deep-cleansing shampoo on the day of installation, and make sure your hair is completely dry and free of residue before installation.
5. Normal loosening as your hair grows
As your natural hair grows, the extension rings gradually move farther from the roots, which can reduce their hold.
Solution: Schedule maintenance every 4–8 weeks to move the extensions closer to the roots and re-tighten the rings.
If only individual extensions have slipped out, you may not need a full reinstallation. The extension can usually be reinserted and secured with a new ring. Human hair extensions can generally be reinstalled multiple times when properly maintained.
