Always start by brushing from ends to roots. Hold the hair near the base as you brush to avoid pulling the knots. If you’ve been outside in the wind or humidity, you might notice the ends feeling dry — that’s normal. Just mist with leave-in conditioner before detangling.

Use a sulfate-free shampoo made for alternative hair. We recommend Beautimark’s Human Hair Shampoo or any salon-grade gentle formula. Add a small amount into your hands and glide it downward through the strands — never rub or swirl. Imagine you’re washing silk, not denim.

Apply conditioner made for alternative hair from mid-lengths to ends. Avoid the roots or base — too much moisture can loosen the knots or glue. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Your topper should now feel soft and smooth to the touch — that’s the sign of hydrated strands.
